Our Part

Rescue

Dogs come to us from all types of backgrounds, most of them pretty bleak. We take them away from those sad lives and welcome them to the rest of their lives.

Medical Care

One of the first things we do is get each dog medical care. Sometimes this means a few vaccines, sometimes it means major surgeries. We make sure each dog is healthy before they move on the the next chapter of their lives.

Placement

We do our best to match each dog with a family that is compatible with their personality. Since we know all dogs are good dogs, we pay especially close attention to the humans we place them with. This includes asking lots of important questions, home checks, meet and greets, and finally adoption.

Your Part

Step One

View our adoptable dogs online.

Step Two

Submit an application for the pet of your choice: The application process is not meant to be an invasion of privacy. It’s a tool to help us find out if one of our dogs would fit happily into your home and your lifestyle. Completion of an application does not guarantee adoption of a VanDannLand Husky.

Step Three

Meet the pet: If your application is approved, a meet and greet with the dog will be arranged. We do not own a facility, meet and greets with the dog will take place at a time and location convenient for the family in care of the animal. Everyone who will be living with the pet needs to attend the meeting.

Step Four

Home Check: While a home visit is required prior to final placement, it does not guarantee adoption. We like to see where our dogs will be living to make sure that they will be in a safe and secure environment. Often, we can help with potential hazards by securing screens, yards and fences to ensure a pet’s safety.

Step Five

Contract and fee: Each adopter will sign a contract with VanDannLand Siberian Sanctuary and make a non-refundable donation. The donation helps us recoup veterinary costs for the animals we save.

Adoption Fees: Depend on the dog

Step Six

New family, new life: Your new family member can come home with you and enjoy a lifetime of love, joy, and laughter.
