Our Mission

Our mission as a 501(c)(3) non-profit is to provide sanctuary for siberian huskies, malamutes, and husky mixes as we search for a loving furever home.

Bill & Bonnie Vandenburg

Founders

We have been owned by huskies since 1989. Originally from upstate New York, we moved to central Florida in 2013 with our two girls, Maya and Kylie. From 2015 to 2016 we rescued a couple more, and in 2017 we began fostering. Within the next three years we fostered almost 90 huskies! In 2020, with help from some very dear friends, we founded the VanDannLand Siberian Sanctuary.

We truly believe it’s all about the dogs, and we continue to volunteer with other rescues that mean a great deal to us.

Michele Phillips

Secretary

Michele Phillips Mother of two huskies and one cat. I was always "The crazy cat lady" until some change of life events happened, then I adopted my first dog EVER and it was a husky!! I started volunteering and fostering huskies for a local Husky rescue.

Vandannland's mission statement is exactly what I believe. Rescue is all about the dogs, finding furever homes and providing sanctuary and love until we do! As Vandannland's secretary, I will directly help to provide this to our huskies.
